Feature Summary
Together B6, B12 and Folic Acid have been found to reduce levels of homocysteine, a risk factor of
disease. High levels of homocysteine allow for the build up of plaque in the arteries and over time this damage can lead to atherosclerosis. This team of B vitamins may prevent such action, improving circulation and lowering risk. Folic acid is needed for energy production, immune support and formation of red blood cells. Folic acid is a B vitamin important for the prevention of certain birth defects (fetal neural tube defects) and it works with B6 and B12 to prevent high homocysteine levels.
Medicinal Ingredients
Folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12.
Non-Medicinal Ingredients
Magnesium stearate vegetable grade (lubricant), microcrystalline cellulose; Gelatin capsule.
Label Dosage
One capsule per day or as directed by a health professional.
Drug Interactions
The following can interfere with B vitamin absorption or utilization by the body: Corticosteroids, aluminium-based antacids, alpha-lipoic acid, alcohol, ASA, epilepsy drugs like barbiturates and phenobarbitol , estrogen replacement therapy, chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, and other major tranquillizers, Hydralazine containing drugs, Isoniazid (anti-tuberculosis), Methotrexate, birth control pills, Penicillamine, Phenytoin, Tetracyclines, Theophylline, Triamterene-containing drugs,omeprazole, Questran and other bile acid sequestrants, sulfsalazine, para-aminosalicylate, nitrofurantoin, colchicine and Metformin.
